1.1 Basic Connection Requirements
Getting started with the PIC32CM SG00 family of 32-bit Microcontrollers (MCUs) requires attention to a minimal set of device pin connections before proceeding with development. The following is a list of pin names, which must be connected always:
- All VDDIO and VSS pins (see Decoupling Capacitors)
- All AVDD and AVSS pins, even if the ADC module is not used (see Decoupling Capacitors)
- The RESET pin (see External RESET Pin)
- The SWDIO and SWCLK pins, used for In-Circuit Programming (ICP) and In-Circuit Debugging (ICD) (see Debug/Programming Pins)
- The XIN/XOUT and XIN32/XOUT32 pins, when external oscillator source is used (see External Oscillator Pins)
The following pins may be required:
- The ADC_VREFH pin is used when an external voltage reference for the ADC module is implemented
- TDI, TMS, TDO, and TCK if JTAG is used
