5 Conclusion

The LAN8650/1 includes several hardware features to enable time synchronous designs. This application note explained the standards that define time sensitive networks and how the Precision Time Protocol enables clock synchronization. Then, it explained the hardware features and how to use them. Finally, it described the software needed to create a simple synchronized device using the LAN8650/1 as the basis of a time-aware 10BASE‑T1S multidrop mixing segment.
