Introduction

This document provides comprehensive guidance on evaluating the platform, setting up the development environment, and application examples. It is designed to assist users in creating products using PIC32WM-BW1 devices.

The PIC32WM-BW1 Module is a Combo Module comprising of WINCS02IC and PIC32CX-BZ2
  • The WINCS02IC is a low power IC containing a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n-compliant Network Controller with integrated network stack. It reduces development time by providing Wi-Fi drivers and service APIs for module’s features and capabilities. The WINCS02 manages all Wi-Fi and IoT cloud functionalities, which simplifies both development and evaluation.
  • The PIC32CX-BZ2 is a general purpose, low-cost, 32-bit Microcontroller (MCU) family that supports wireless interfaces such as Bluetooth® Low Energy.
The PIC32WM-BW1 Curiosity Board development platform can be evaluated by executing the preprogrammed demo example or running the ready-made application examples. The examples include both Bluetooth® LE–only and Bluetooth® LE–Wi-Fi® combo applications. The Bluetooth LE only examples, referred to as building blocks, provide fundamental Bluetooth applications that illustrate individual concepts such as legacy and extended advertisement, as well as data transfer using specific profiles and services. The combo applications demonstrate the coexistence of Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi functionalities.

The following table lists the resources available and summarizes the information covered in this document.
