Introduction
This document provides comprehensive guidance on evaluating the platform, setting up the development environment, and application examples. It is designed to assist users in creating products using PIC32WM-BW1 devices.
The PIC32WM-BW1 Module is a Combo Module comprising of
WINCS02IC and PIC32CX-BZ2
- The WINCS02IC is a low power IC containing a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n-compliant Network Controller with integrated network stack. It reduces development time by providing Wi-Fi drivers and service APIs for module’s features and capabilities. The WINCS02 manages all Wi-Fi and IoT cloud functionalities, which simplifies both development and evaluation.
- The PIC32CX-BZ2 is a general purpose, low-cost, 32-bit Microcontroller (MCU) family that supports wireless interfaces such as Bluetooth® Low Energy.
The following table lists the resources available and summarizes the information covered in this document.
| Chapter | Description |
|---|---|
|
Evaluating board features, running the preprogrammed demo example. | |
| Getting started with Software Development | Installing IDE, tool chain and precompiled application example on the PC. |
| Getting Started with Bluetooth® Low Energy Applications | Bluetooth® LE application documentation describing steps to test and develop the precompiled application examples. |
| Firmware and OTA Updates | Enabling firmware updates in the design (serial or Host firmware OTA over Bluetooth® LE and WINCS02 firmware OTA over Wi-Fi®). |
| Adding Chip Peripherals | Adding analog/digital peripherals to the application |
| Support Documentation | Documentation that is generic and used as supporting document with the application example documentation. |
