Introduction
The Microchip Nano Debugger (also referred to as nEDBG or PKOB nano) offers a cost-effective option for integrating programming and debugging capabilities into development kits and evaluation boards featuring selected Microchip AVR®, PIC®, SAM, PIC32, and dsPIC® microcontrollers. Additionally, it can serve as a standalone programming and debugging tool for certain AVR and Arm®-based microcontroller models within these families.
The Microchip Nano Debugger is fully compatible with several Microchip integrated development environments, including MPLAB® for VS Code®, MPLAB X IDE, and Microchip Studio. It utilizes a standard CMSIS-DAP interface, enabling seamless operation with a range of partner IDEs and open-source toolchains.
In addition to the debugger interface, the Microchip Nano Debugger offers a Virtual Serial Port, Data Gateway Interface, and mass storage disk, providing users with a range of valuable features that enhance development and debugging capabilities.
The Nano Debugger operates on a standard SAMD21 microcontroller in a QFN32 package. Its USB clock recovery feature eliminates the need for an external crystal, making it both a cost-effective and space-efficient solution.
