1 Product Overview

The LAN9645x family is a series of compact, high-performance Gigabit Ethernet switches designed for industrial and embedded networking applications requiring flexible port configurations and scalable feature sets.

Devices in this family are available in 5-, 7-, and 9-port configurations and integrate up to five 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet PHYs along with a non-blocking, wire-speed switch core.

The LAN9645x architecture provides flexible port allocation across multiple interface types, enabling a wide range of system configurations. Supported interfaces include:

  • Integrated copper PHYs (10/100/1000BASE-T)
  • RGMII/RMII (1G/100M/10M)
  • SGMII/SGMII+ (1G / 2.5G)
  • Quad-SGMII (QSGMII) for port expansion
This flexibility allows designers to tailor port count, interface type, and system architecture to their application while maintaining a common hardware platform.
Note: QSGMII enables four switch ports over a single interface and consumes four internal switch ports when used.
Note: Interface availability and port combinations depend on device variant and configuration; refer to the device data sheet for full details.
