3 Hardware and EVB Guide

Microchip provides evaluation hardware for the LAN9645x family to support both unmanaged and managed system evaluation.

The LAN9645x evaluation platform is based on the EDS2 architecture, which utilizes a modular baseboard and daughter card approach. This enables flexible evaluation across different system configurations, including standalone unmanaged designs and host-based managed systems.

The LAN9645x evaluation hardware is available in two primary configurations:

• EV03E14A – LAN96459 Unmanaged EVB for standalone unmanaged evaluation
• EV14H52A – LAN96459F EDS2 Daughter Card for managed evaluation when used with a Microchip-validated SAMA7D65 Curiosity EDS2 baseboard

Getting Started:

• Use EV03E14A for evaluation of unmanaged operation (no host processor required)
• Use EV14H52A with a SAMA7D65 platform for managed operation using Linux DSA
