18.2.1 Start Event 1 (S1)

Once the APM has been enabled (EN = 1), the 16-bit counter represented by the APMPER register will begin counting and run based on the programmed period and prescaler. The APMSTART1 register is used to determine the amount of time that must pass before the Start 1 Event occurs.

When the value written to APMSTART1 matches the value of the APMPER register, the Start 1 Event will occur and the analog peripherals selected using the APMPERS1 will be activated. Once this happens, a secondary 24-bit internal offset counter will begin counting which is used to determine the timing for the subsequent Start 2, End 1, and End 2 events.

Important: The 24-bit internal offset counter operates based on the APM clock source selected using the APMCLK register with no prescaler.
