Executive Summary

Large-scale wireless networks reliably connect hundreds or thousands of devices across complex, obstacle-rich environments. Achieving consistent coverage and performance at this scale is challenging due to limited transmit power, physical barriers (walls and floors), RF interference, and growing routing complexity. Supporting interoperability across multiple wireless protocols further adds to deployment complexity in enterprise and industrial settings.

Mesh networking addresses these challenges through multi-hop communication, improving coverage, reliability, and resilience. To replicate real-world deployment conditions, a sector-based approach is deployed in the mesh topology. Sector-based mesh architecture organizes nodes into logical groups with coordinated routing, reducing overhead while enhancing scalability and network stability. This protocol‑agnostic approach provides a flexible, efficient framework for large‑scale Thread®, Bluetooth® LE, or proprietary wireless connectivity solutions.
