3.1.3 Safety Diagnostic Routines

The following is an example of a safety diagnostic routine that can be implemented by the SOCs and safety supervisor components.

The local safety supervisor implements the majority of the safety mechanisms and relays the status to the network safety supervisor. The local supervisor may be part of the SoC itself (because the safety communication to the SoC are low-level commands) or may be a separate processor.

The following figure shows a supervisory flowchart in which the supervisor directs the commands in black and the clock source responds in blue, with clock source states in green or red.
