3.8 Programming Verification

After the code memory is programmed, the contents of the memory should be verified to ensure that the programming was successful. Verification requires the code memory to be read back and compared against the copy held in the programmer’s buffer. The READP command can be used to read back all the programmed code memory and Configuration Words.

Alternatively, the programmer can perform the verification after the entire device is programmed by using a checksum computation.

See CRC Checksum Computation for more information on calculating the checksum.
