3.1 Overview of the Programming Process

Figure 3-1 shows the high-level overview of the programming process. First, it must be determined if the Programming Executive is present in executive memory, then the Enhanced ICSP mode is entered. The program memory is then erased, and the program memory and Configuration Words are programmed and verified. Lastly, the code-protect Configuration bits are programmed (if required) and Enhanced ICSP mode is exited.
