2.2.3 Typical 5V Application Circuit with One-Wire Control
Figure 2-5 shows a typical vehicle side application circuit running from a 5V voltage regulator delivered from the LIN transceiver (for example, ATA6625) device. This application is especially suitable for remote antenna modules located, for example, under the rooftop or next to window antennas. The ATA5835 can work autonomously and communicate to the external host microcontroller via a one-wire bus. The Flash inside the ATA5835 can be used to either integrate a LIN conformal software stack or a proprietary one-wire protocol. The integrated LIN-enabled UART IP can be used to reduce the processor and memory load for one-wire communication.
After connecting the ATA6625 to the 12V battery, the ATA5835 is permanently supplied with VS. A command on the one-wire bus wakes the ATA5835, which is then controlled by the customer application in Flash.
The unused digital ports can be left open when the internal 50 kΩ pull-up resistors are activated.
