Ultimate KeeLoq technology adds an on-board, free-running timer. When the user presses a button, the system captures a snapshot of its internal timer value and sends it inside the encrypted data packet. The receiver also has an on-board timer at its end. If pairing a transmitter to a receiver, the receiver stores relevant information, such as the timer value when synchronized, the last received timestamp and the resynchronization counter.Figure 4-3.
