4 Crystal Oscillator and Clock Calibration
The ATA8352 device requires initial offset calibration with the following crystal selection:
Parameters | Condition | Min. | Typ. | Max. | Unit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Crystal frequency | Fundamental mode | — | 48 | — | MHz |
Crystal parameters (48 MHz) | ESR | — | — | 60 | Ω |
Nominal load capacitance | — | 6 | — | pF | |
Max. total parasitics | — | — | 2 | pF | |
Oscillation safety factor C0, in < 1 pF, @ 25°C | 10 | — | — | — | |
Crystal frequency tolerance |
Initial @ 25°C (after on-chip trimming) | -20 | — | +20 | ppm |
Overtemp. range | -16 | — | +16 | ppm | |
Aging per year | -5 | — | +5 | ppm | |
On-Chip CL Trim | CL TRIM_RANGE | 6.5 | 7.63 | 8.8 | pF |
Apply the following adjustments during the operation between a Verifier and a Prover device:
- Frequency offset calibration between Verifier and Prover device using the frequency offset compensation as described in the ATA8352 Impulse-Radio Ultra-Wideband (IR-UWB) Transceiver User’s Guide (DS50003125) for the modes VRo and PRo.
- Initial crystal calibration compared with the MST_CLK = 4.0 MHz
