8 Debugging

This chapter provides practical checks to help the user identify the root cause when the system does not behave as expected. The following are some hints the user can use:
  • The user must double-check the configuration for transmitter and receiver. A difference (for example in the data rate) can cause communication failures.
  • The user must verify the transmitter functionality:
    • When the user connects the power supply to the (ATA5831-XPRO) board (EV14T68A), ensure the LED (labeled Rx) activates when the jumper is in the “Programming Enable” position.
    • The user must observe that the LED (labeled Rx) on the (ATA5831-XPRO) (EV14T68A) turns OFF approximately two seconds after removing the jumper from the Programming Enable position.
    • The user must monitor current consumption and observe a periodic peak >10 mA every 2.1 seconds.
Note: For more details, see Figure 7-1.
  • The user must verify the receiver functionality:
    • The user can observe a short flash of the LED on the first button press (event) (the user can retry after a Power-On Reset (POR)).
