2.2 LDO Channels and Related External Components

The MCP16503 LDOs are designed for operation with low-ESR ceramic output capacitors of 2.2 μF (minimum value) for loads up to 150 mA, and of 4.7 μF (minimum value) for loads up to 300 mA. The total rail capacitance should not exceed 50 μF.

The LDOs can be used with an input voltage (V_LVIN) less or equal to the voltage at pin SVIN. As such, they can operate as post-regulators cascaded to a buck channel output, if its output voltage is programmed above 2.7V.
