5.5 PA16/VDDIO2 Selection Header
The PIC32CM Px DIP-28 Curiosity Nano includes a selection header for devices that support Multi-Voltage I/O (MVIO) domains. The header selects whether the device pin is connected to the board edge connector or to VCC_TARGET.
If the target device includes a Multi-Voltage I/O (MVIO) domain powered through the VDDIO2 pin, the associated pins are powered exclusively by VDDIO2. If VDDIO2 is not supplied, these I/O pins will not operate. On the PIC32CM Px DIP-28 Curiosity Nano board, the header is configured by default to connect the device pin to VCC_TARGET.
Tip: An externally sourced voltage can be applied to the
VDDIO2 pin by connecting the external voltage source to J114 and GND on the board.
Warning: The MVIO circuit does not
include reverse-polarity protection. Incorrect connections to J114 may permanently damage the
board.
