5 XC-DSC Toolchain and Supporting IDEs

The XC-DSC language tools may be used with MPLAB® X IDE or MPLAB® for VS Code® to provide GUI development of application code for the dsPIC DSC family of devices.

Important: The XC-DSC compiler can compile C code with either IDE but can only compile C++ code with MPLAB for VS Code.

Important: When using new or imported projects for MPLAB for VS Code, toolchains already installed on your computer will be suggested first; otherwise a request to download the latest device-appropriate compiler will be displayed. For more information, see MPLAB® Tools for VS Code®.
