3.2 EV14H52A LAN96459F EDS2 Daughter Card (Managed Evaluation)

The EV14H52A LAN96459F EDS2 Daughter Card is designed for managed evaluation of LAN9645x devices.

In this configuration:

  • The SAMA7D65 host processor provides system control and Linux execution
  • The LAN9645x device is connected via:
    • SPI (management interface)
    • RGMII (data interface to host)

The switch is managed using Linux® Distributed Switch Architecture (DSA), enabling dynamic configuration, monitoring, and access to advanced features.

This platform enables evaluation of:

  • TSN and AVB features
  • Industrial redundancy (HSR, PRP, and MRP)
  • Dynamic VLAN, QoS, and traffic management
  • Linux DSA integration and software development

Microchip provides Linux Board Support Packages (BSPs), prebuilt software images, and source code to support evaluation and development on this platform. Detailed platform information, software resources, and associated design collateral are provided in the EV14H52A User Guide and the documentation resources listed in Documentation.

Note: BSP packages provide complete, runnable systems including kernel, device tree, and root filesystem, while GitHub repositories provide source code for customization.
