24.10.9 Counter Value in COUNT16 mode (CTRLA.MODE = 1)

Note:

This register is read-synchronized and write-synchronized: SYNCBUSY.COUNT must be checked to ensure the COUNT register synchronization is complete.
This register must be written with 16-bit accesses only.
Prior to any read access, this register must be synchronized by the user by writing the COUNT Read Synchronization Enable bit in the Control A register (CTRLA.COUNTSYNC = 1).
