1.1 Configuring Unit's Default IP Address, Username, and Password
Depending on the unit part number, the unit arrives pre-configured using a static/dynamic
(DHCP) IP address.
- Static IP address
- Default IP address: 192.168.0.50/24
- Username: admin
- Password: A unique random password varies from unit to unit (See the rear label)
- DHCP—Dynamic IP address
- Default IP address: If the new unit using DHCPv4 is unable to receive the DHCPv4 address from the DHCP server in three minutes, it will revert to 192.168.0.150/24
- Username and password: Same as described for the static IP address
Note:
- When restoring the unit using an external Ethernet cable connected between two unit ports (loopback) with no PoE PDs, the unit reverts to full factory defaults. The unit IP address is reset to either 192.168.0.50/24 or DHCP. The username returns to admin, and the password as marked on the unit label (See Restoring the Unit With Unknown Unit IP, Username, or Password)
- When restoring the unit from the Web, the unit's IP address remains unchanged. However the username, and password are reset to their factory default.
- It is the user's responsibility to keep a record of the unit's unique default password (See the rear label)
