(Ask a Question)Microchip Power Estimator (MPE) PolarFire is a spreadsheet-based tool that enables designers to estimate the power consumption of PolarFire FPGAs from design concept to design implementation. It provides thermal analysis, as well as information about the contribution of various factors in the total power consumption of FPGA. Operating frequencies, device resources, clock resources, toggle rates, and other parameters are first entered into the Power Estimator. These parameters are then combined with pre-determined power models based on simulation and characterized device data to estimate power consumption.
