To use the libraries, install the MPLAB Code Configurator plug-in tool in the MPLAB X IDE. This section describes the installation of MCC and the Diagnostic Libraries.
2 Updating the Library
An update may be required if the library was previously installed and a new version is available. This section describes how to update the library using CMT in MCC.
3 Adding Diagnostic Tests
This section describes adding diagnostic tests using MCC Melody and the Diagnostic Libraries in MPLAB X projects.
4 Running the Examples
Examples are available for each diagnostic test. Users can generate these examples if the options are enabled in the user interface. For instance, to add the AVR SW_CPU_REGISTER_TEST_01 example:

Introduction

The MPLAB® Code Configurator (MCC) Melody AVR® and PIC16/18 Diagnostic Libraries are suites of diagnostic tests following functional safety standards. These libraries are distributed as MPLAB X MCC Melody modules, which allow quick and easy configuration using graphical interfaces. MCC generates code for MPLAB X and the MPLAB XC8 compiler projects based on the selections and configuration.

This document contains instructions on how to install the libraries, add diagnostic tests and run the examples. The release notes contain information on the operating environment. To view the release notes, refer to the note at the bottom of Installing the Library.
