7.7.5.11.1 Introduction

The Direct Access mode prevents system memory and DMA channels usage when an audio stream rate must be converted.

The Direct Access mode allows any audio peripheral with a receive channel to be routed to one or more DSPs input, and provides converted samples (DSP output) that can be routed to any audio peripheral with a transmit channel. Mixing software and/or DMA accesses with direct access is possible.

Note: The Direct Access mode related configurations (ASRC_MR.DATHRx/DARHRx, ASRC_DAPSELR.IN_CHx/OUT_CHx, ASRC_DAVCR and ASRC_DABMR.BRENx) must be programmed prior to enabling the channels in ASRC_MR.ASRCENx. The trigger selections (ASRC_TRIG) must be correctly configured.
