43.1 Overview

The Hardware Security Module Lite (HSM-Lite) peripheral integrates high-performance cryptographic accelerators, a True Random Number Generator (TRNG), and scatter-gather DMA into a single module. The AHB Host port provides access to programming model registers. The AHB Host port is used for high bandwidth access to system memory for encryption, hashing, and public key operations.

In devices with TrustZone, typically the HSM-Lite is configured to be a secure peripheral. This restricts access for the HSM-Lite registers to the secure world only. Secure world firmware provides cryptographic services to the non-secure world using an API. The HSM-Lite has the capability to act as a non-secure Host for these operations.
