2.12.1 Capless Speaker Output

The capless speaker audio output setting is generally used in the following application:

  • To drive a headphone/earphone with internal CODEC
  • To save the cost of DC block capacitor in audio output path

The following figure illustrates the capless output circuit connection with a phone jack.

Where:
  • AOHPR – Right channel analog headphone output
  • AOHPL – Left channel analog headphone output
  • AOHPM – Headphone common mode output/sense input

To configure the audio for Capless Speaker Output, perform the following steps on the CODEC Setup page.
  1. Set the Speaker Output function as Capless Speaker Output.
  2. Set the CODEC Type as Internal.
