2.12.2 Single End Output Configuration

Single end audio output connects audio output of the IS2083 internal CODEC to external analog audio amplifier input with a coupling capacitor. To prevent pop noise during CODEC power-on and -off, configure a GPIO pin to an enable function to control the external analog audio amplifier. The following figure illustrates the audio output connection from the IS2083 to external audio amplifier.

To configure the audio for single end output to external audio amplifier configuration, perform the following steps on the CODEC Setup page.
  1. Set the “Speaker Output” function as Single End External Amp.
  2. Set the “CODEC Type” as Internal.

The following figure illustrates the GUI tool configuration for single end output to external audio amplifier on the CODEC Setup page.

To configure the audio for testing the IS2083, perform the following steps. In this configuration, the internal CODEC output power-on and -off timing is tuned to a longer extension to avoid pop noise.
  1. Set the “Speaker Output” function as Single End Speaker Output.
  2. Set the “CODEC Type” as Internal.

The following figure illustrates the GUI tool configuration for single end speaker output on the CODEC Setup page.
