2.2 Output of a Signal Routing Port Pin (Destination)
The output of a signal routing port pin is available internally as the RWn pin. Users can read the status of the signal routing port pin by reading the PORTW register, similar to reading the status of a regular I/O pin using PORTx register. On select devices, the output of each of the RWn signal routing port pin can be routed to a physical I/O pin through the RxyPPS register. Refer to the device data sheet for more information.
In addition to the PORTW register and PPS output, the RWn signal routing port pins also feed into the PPS module as input sources. The RWn signal routing port pins are available alongside regular I/O pins in the xxxPPS Input Register Selection, allowing any peripheral to tap into and connect to the signal routing port pins. Refer to the “PPS Inputs” section in the “PPS – Peripheral Pin Select Module” chapter of the device data sheet for more information.
