2.5 Software Protection

This component is used to activate a software method for write-protecting the bootloader section of Flash for 8-bit PIC devices.

Description: This component is used only in the 8-bit PIC UI because 8-bit AVR devices have a form of code protection built into the hardware while the 8-bit PIC architecture requires firmware to do the same task. This UI option is used to enable the code protection functionality within the bootloader code.
