50.1 Overview

The Hardware Security Module (HSM) is intended for automotive, industrial, or commercial systems and can provide support for code authentication (secure boot), Message Authentication Code (MAC) generation, support for trusted firmware updates, multiple key management protocols including Transport Layer Security (TLS), and other root-of-trust-based operations.

The HSM serves as a companion device to the MCU.
