2.5 Using External Memory (Future Feature)

Simulating a device that uses external memory requires the following:

• Setting Configuration bits to enable external memory modes – 
Window>Target Memory Views>Configuration Bits

For the simulator, external memory is simulated the same as on-chip memory – with PC memory. Therefore, there are no communication delays as there may be with hardware and use of an external bus interface.

External memory may be viewed as an extension of on-chip memory in a memory window - Window>Target Memory Views>Program Memory.
