9.3 NAND Flash Memory

The Microchip SAMA7G54 System-On-Module embeds an SLC NAND Flash memory supported through its External Bus Interface controller with different memory sizes depending on the part number.

The System-On-Module features a 4-Gbit memory implementing one of the following references, available in a VFBGA-63 package:

  • Macronix MX30LF4G28AD-XKI
  • Micron MT29F4G08ABAFAH4-IT:F
Note:
  1. Read/write speed may vary depending on the NAND Flash reference fitted to the module. For more details, refer to the device data sheets.
  2. Either one of the above references can be mounted on the Microchip SAMA7G54 System-On-Module.

The software must be adapted to recognize the relevant NAND Flash manufacturer. Microchip Linux distribution supports all references. For details on how to build Linux software, refer to www.linux4microchip.com/.

NAND_CS_IN (pin 38) is accessible externally and can be uncoupled from NAND_CS_PD4 (pin 39) so that the boot can be unselected from the NAND Flash memory during debug phases.
