25.3.2.4.3 Flushing the Receive Buffer

If the RX buffer needs to be flushed during normal operation, repeatedly read the DATA locations (USARTn.RXDATAH and USARTn.RXDATAL registers) until the Receive Complete (RXC) interrupt flag in the Status (USARTn.RXDATAH) register is cleared.
