4.4.1 Setting Up an Environment Variable on a Windows Client Machine

To connect to the Windows server, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the Start menu, search for Environment Variables.
    The Environment Variables dialog appears.
  2. In the dialog, under User variables, perform the appropriate step:

    If LM_LICENSE_FILE appears in the dialog:

    1. Select the variable, and then select Edit.
    2. Append port@hostname to the existing value. For example, 1702@license_server.
    3. Select OK to save your edits and exit the dialog.

    If LM_LICENSE_FILE does not appear in the dialog, perform the following steps:

    1. Select New.
    2. Set the Variable Name to LM_LICENSE_FILE.
    3. Set the Variable Value as port@hostname. For example: 1702@license_server.
    4. Select OK to save your edits and exit the dialog.
  3. To add or update the SNPSLMD_LICENSE_FILE, perform the following steps:

    If SNPSLMD_LICENSE_FILE exists:

    1. Append port@hostname. For example, 1702@license_server.

    If SNPSLMD_LICENSE_FILE does not exist, perform the following steps:

    1. Create SNPSLMD_LICENSE_FILE.
    2. Set the value to port@hostname. For example, 1702@license_server.
