PROMs are Programmable Read-Only Memory devices. Even though the name does not imply
programmable logic, PROMs are, in fact, devices that can be used to implement logic
functions. The architecture of most PROMs typically consists of a fixed number of AND
array terms that feed a programmable OR array. They are mainly used for decoding
specific input combinations into output functions, such as memory mapping in
