11.1 Clocks Distribution
The PIC32CZ CA70/MC70 clock system is composed of the following:
- One Clock Generator, with:
- One low-power 32.768 kHz crystal oscillator with Bypass mode
- One low-power Slow RC oscillator (32 kHz typical)
- One 3 to 20 MHz Main crystal oscillator with Bypass mode
- One 4/8/12 MHz Main RC Oscillator. The 12 MHz output frequency is selected by default.
- One 480 MHz UTMI PLL, providing a clock for the USB HS controller
- One 160 to 500 MHz Programmable PLL
The following Main RC Oscillator and Main Crystal Oscillator figure, is an example using the Main RC oscillator or Main Crystal oscillator as clock source where:
- The PLLA provides the Host Clock Controller (300 MHz) with the below outputs:
- Processor Clocks (HCLK) runs at 300 MHz
- SysTick External Clock and Host Clock (MAIN_CLK) run at 150 MHz
- The Main RC Oscillator provides a 12 MHz Main Clock (MAIN_CLK) to the peripherals through the Programmable Clock Controller and the Generic Clock Controller (I2SC only)
- The Main Crystal oscillator provides
a 12 MHz to the USB UTMI PLL (UPLL_CLK) with the below outputs:
- USB FS Clock runs at 48 MHz
- USB HS Clock runs at 480 MHz
Note:
- For x = 0 to 7.
- For y = 0 to 1.
