2 Guidelines for Getting Started

This section provides the user with the requirements regarding the different pin connections that must be considered before starting any new board design. It also provides information on the minimum hardware resources required to quickly develop an application with the PIC32CZ CA70/MC70 devices. It does not consider PCB layout constraints.

This information is not intended to be exhaustive. The objective is to cover as many user configurations as possible.

CAUTION: Operation in Noisy Environment

If the device is operating in an environment with considerable electromagnetic noise, it must be protected from this noise to ensure reliable operation. In addition to following best practice EMC design guidelines, the recommendations listed in the following sections must be followed. Placing decoupling capacitors very close to the power pins, an RC-filter on the RESET pin, and a pull-up resistor on the SWCLK pin is critical for reliable operations.

It is also relevant to eliminate or attenuate noise in order to avoid that it reaches the supply pins, I/O pins, and crystals.

Refer to the "EMI, EMC, EFT, and ESD Circuit Design Consideration for 32-bit Microcontrollers Guide" on the Microchip web site.
