1.3 Software Prerequisites

The following are the host PC requirements for building the Linux system image:
  • Host system: Approximately 20 GB of free disk space is required for building the Linux system image that runs on the Microprocessor Unit (MPU).
  • Virtual Machine (VM): If using a VM (for example, VirtualBox) to run the Linux operating system and build the image, ensure it has more than 60 GB of storage space for installing the Linux operating system (for example, Ubuntu) and building the image. The recommendation is to assign more than 4 GB of RAM and more than two CPU cores to the system for better performance.
