5.1.2 Beacon Request and Scan Duration

This section describes the power profile of the SAM R30 Mi-Wi sleeping end device during transmission of beacon request, and also captures the duration in which the device stays in scanning state for receiving beacon responses. The following figure illustrates the complete profile.

The following figure illustrates the zoomed-in section showing the profile during transmission of beacon request.
Figure 5-5. Beacon Request and Response
  1. A – Beacon request TX
  2. B – RX to receive beacon response from nearby PAN coordinator
  3. C – Reception of beacon response from PAN coordinator
  4. D – MAC ACK TX for the received beacon response
  5. E – RX to receive beacon response from nearby PAN coordinator
The following table provides details about a snippet from the reference sniffer log captured during this scenario for reference. Packet 1 is the beacon request from the sleeping end device, and the PAN coordinator sends the beacon response for the beacon request (packet 1) received from the sleeping end device, which is followed by the MAC ACK from the DUT to PAN coordinator.
