3.3.2 Swapping the SPI Flash Memory Devices
The EV51H13A development board is shipped with six 3.3V Quad SPI Flash memory devices installed in the onboard Flash sockets. Some users may choose to replace these devices with compatible SPI Flash devices from alternate vendors or with devices operating at different voltage levels. It is the user’s responsibility to verify compatibility when using non-default memory devices.
3.3V SPI Flash Devices
To replace the default Flash devices while maintaining 3.3V operation:
- Power down the board before removing or installing any memory devices.
- Remove the existing SPI Flash devices from the sockets.
- Install the replacement 3.3V SPI Flash devices.
- Follow the procedures described in the previous sections to power the board and program the devices using the DediProg programmer.
1.8V SPI Flash Devices
The TS1800 supports three SPI banks, with each bank supporting up to two chips. Each bank can support either 1.8V or 3.3V SPI chips.
The supply voltage for each bank is controlled by the following jumpers:
- J5 controls VTR1, which powers SPI Channel 0
- J8 controls VTR2, which powers SPI Channel 1
- J7 controls VTR3, which powers SPI Channel 2
