4.1 Description

This section describes the architecture and usage of the Microchip Smart Meter SDK. It consists of the Microchip Metrology Library (running in Core 1) and the Demo Meter application (running in Core 0).

The Developer Guide target audience is system designers, embedded programmers and hardware engineers, evaluating, prototyping, and deploying Smart Meter products. The Microchip Smart Meter Toolkit is delivered as a Software Development Kit (SDK), which includes the complete source code for the Demo Meter application firmware, the object file for the Metrology library and miscellaneous test/example applications.

The audience is assumed to be familiar with the C programming language. Some knowledge of Smart Meter system is recommended, but not required.
