2.2.4 RJ45 Cable Installation

Note: Use outdoor certified cable with thickness diameter of 4-8mm. Check and make sure the rubber gasket is tightly closed around the cable
The following steps describe how to install the RJ45 cable to the midspan unit.
  1. Remove the upper cap, blank plug, and washer from the port.
  2. Insert the cable through the upper cap and the washer and plug into the port.
  3. Slide the washer and the upper cap towards the midspan and hand-tighten the upper cap onto the port.
    Note: Secure the gland until the rubber gasket is firmly closed around the cable.
  4. Connect DATA IN jack (input) to the remote Ethernet network and DATA PWR OUT jack (output) to the terminal.

  5. Verify connection to main AC power.
Note:
  1. 2-ports RJ45 male plug waterproof cap covers are supplied with the PoE Midspan.
  2. ACIN plug is supplied with the PoE Midspan.
  3. Ethernet cable, power cable, and RJ45 male connectors are not supplied with the PoE Midspan.
  4. For non AF/AT compliant unit—use a splitter; ensure that the splitter is connected close to the terminal and not on the midspan.
  5. This unit is designed for outdoor use only.
