4.4.2.2 IF Amplifier

A 10 dB IF amplifier between the RF front end and the ADC input results in a 2-3 dB improvement of the system sensitivity. The low-pass filter characteristic of this amplifier separates in-band and out-of-band compression. This results in enhanced system sensitivity without affecting blocking performance.
