3.2.1 Region Descriptor

On device Reset, the initial configuration for each region is copied from the region descriptor in the device configuration bits to the region control registers in SFR space.

Firmware type regions can be reconfigured by changing the associated region control registers in the SFR space. The region control registers of OTP and IRT sections cannot be modified after being copied from the region descriptor in the configuration bits on Reset. OTP and IRT properties can only be changed by erasing/writing the region descriptors in the UCB configuration space and resetting the device to load the new settings. To protect the region descriptors from self-modifying code, applications should erase/write protect the UCB configuration bits as described in User Configuration Block (UCB) Lockdown and Region Security.

The properties of the Flash regions are described in each of the following subsections.
