8.3.2.5.3.4 Firmware Request Approval

The following are the steps for the firmware request approval:
  1. After clicking Connect/Update, a Bluetooth Low Energy link connection is established between the devices, and the firmware update procedure starts.

  2. The device enters into OTAPC mode, and the central device initiates a firmware update request. The remote side receives the firmware update request as an event.

  3. The remote device, then, must approve the request with a predefined OTAA,01 command. The remote device receives an AOK<CR><LF> response.

Note: The host MCU can send this approval command if the RNBD451 is connected with the host MCU.
  4. After that, the central device starts firmware distribution by sending the firmware files in maximum allowed fragmented size received from the remote device along with the firmware distribution command.

  5. The firmware update proceeds from then on. The remote device side continuously receives an OTA updating in progress event.
