5.9 I2C Status and Recovery Packet
The I2C Status and Recovery Packet shows the current state of the SDA and SCL lines and performs Bus Recovery when sent:
| Indicator | States |
|---|---|
| SDA | High/Low /Unknown |
| SCL | High/Low/Unknown |
| Bus Recovery | Success/Failure/Unknown |
An Auto Recover Bus toggle is available to automatically attempt bus recovery if the I2C bus becomes stuck.
Attention: Bus recovery attempts to free a stuck
I2C bus by clocking the SCL line and issuing a STOP condition. When
Auto Recover Bus is enabled, recovery runs automatically each time the packet
is sent and a stuck-bus condition is detected. If recovery is unsuccessful, the Bus
Recovery indicator shows “Failure”. It may be necessary to resend the packet to
retry or power-cycle the target device and attached I2C clients if the bus
remains stuck.
