2.5 Device Protection Shortcut

The device protection button in the footer displays the current protection state of the selected device.

UnknownProtection state has not yet been read
No ProtectionThe device has no password or lock applied
UnlockedThe device is password-protected and currently unlocked
LockedThe device is password-protected and currently locked
Permanently LockedThe device has been permanently locked

The button tooltip indicates the available action (e.g., “Click to lock device”). Clicking it opens the appropriate lock or unlock dialog when applicable.

Fastpath:

The protection state is determined when the device is read. If the state shows “Unknown”, click the button to fetch the protection state or perform a Read operation.
