19.6.10.1 Boot Communication Channels

The CPU0 Boot ROM controller is capable of performing CRC verification of the ROM content. The result of the CRC check is reported by the STATUSA.ROMCRC status field which is always accessible by the debugger regardless of the DAL security level.

Since the CPU0 Boot ROM is the device root of trust, if the ROM content fails CRC verification, the ROM code never executes, the effective DAL setting remains at DAL0 for all CPU interfaces.
