5.4 Transmission Coupling Configuration

To achieve a good transmission performance and comply with the regulatory requirements, the PL360 configuration parameters related to the transmission coupling hardware need to be properly configured.

The default values of these parameters, initialized by each PL360 binary, correspond to the values calibrated for the PL360MB evaluation kit, using the appropriate coupling board and frequency band.

In the example applications of the firmware packages, Microchip provides the configuration values calibrated for each coupling reference design and working band. For custom designs different from the Microchip reference designs, it is recommended that the transmission coupling configuration parameters be recalibrated.

Tip: Microchip provides a specific tool, called PHY Calibration Tool, for the purpose of helping customers to calculate the best values for their own hardware design. For further details, refer to the PL360 Physical Calibration document.
