3.4.9 CAN Interface
The Controller Area Network (MCAN) facilitates communication in compliance with the ISO 11898-1:2015 standard and the Bosch CAN FD specification. Additional transceiver hardware is required for connection to the physical layer.
The SAM9X75 Curiosity Pro features one dedicated MCAN interface (MCAN1), equipped with an MCP2542 CAN transceiver.
The MCP2542 CAN transceiver is designed for high-speed CAN FD applications. For more information about the MCP2542 device, refer to the product web page.
By default, the MCP2542 CAN transceiver can be manually put into Standby mode by placing the appropriate jumper on header J81.
The CAN port features a 3-pin terminal block (J72). Wires can be plugged into the terminal block without the use of a screwdriver.
